The following ins an Interview with Steve Redgrave's Long Lost Brother Stephen Redgrave

May 28th 2025

Hi Stephen so to begin when did you realise that you are the brother of Olympics Legend SiR Steven Redgrave and why did you become lost:

I knew I was Steve's long lost brother when I saw him on this is your life in 1996... when I saw it was going to be on in The TV Times my first thought was 'am I going to be on TV? They really kept that a surprise! And they've spelled my name wrong too'... I rang up The TV Times to tell them but they told me it was a different Stephen Redgrave. I thought 'oh well I'll watch it anyway' and when I saw him come out of those doors I KNEW we were brothers, he looks EXACTLY like me.... I bet people would have to count our medals to tell us apart!!

Thanks for anwering that one, now what was it like growing up with steve redgrave and did he was he such a sport champion when he was a child like how he is now?:

When I saw him on TV I suddenly remembered the childhood I'd forgotten... As very young boys we used to go out rowing on the river... Sir Steve was very good at rowing then but it was a scout who actually told ME that I was destined for olympic greatness with team gb. That summer Steve had a growth spurt, but I never did, so I never made it to the olympics... Some days I feel like a pathetic little weed, but it's ok.

Great now for a next question did you ever get the change to do rowing with sir steve or did you get lost too soon for that to happen?:

We know that you want to reconnect with your long lost brother who is Olmpics Legend Sir Steve Redgrave but do you think it can be possible now that Steve Redgrave is in the "line light" and so famous that it can be hard to get heard by him or even see him in person due to his fame?

[Stephen chose not to answer this question likely because it might have brought sad emotions of thinking of not being able to finally meet Sir Steve Redgrave again we are unsure].
